I have looked over all of the benchmarks and I intend on doing benchmark #40, because I have many examples I can use for it. I am choosing to do something related to volleyball season and take a picture of my trophy at home, although I don't have the trophy with me so I can't take a picture of it right now. I am also planning on doing #34 to show which career path I would like to go into such as music education at SAU. I have included a screenshot of the description of their music program from SAU. I also am planning on doing #64 and showing how I have been able to help out others such as in America but specifically focus on overseas and demonstrate how community doesn't mean it has to be right in your neighborhood.

Post 3: Portfolio
Some websites that are free and easy to create can be done through Blogger, Weebly, and Google Sites. They each meet all of the requirements and are fun, free, and easy to use. For instance, I created some dumb blogs in 2011 and they are still existent and you can see all the posts I did. I also included a screenshot from my iPad viewing my blog, so this also works on a mobile device.

Discovery Post
I had a fun time looking at the portfolios and seeing everyones creativity. I looked at Logan's, Veronica's, and Gabby's. I loved the way Logan created hers. I think it looked sharp and I'm going to do my best to model mine after what she did. Each of the girls had their resumes, pictures of themselves, fun and appealing backgrounds and the overall feel of mature finalization. I need to include all the benchmarks required, an intro page and also probably some pictures of myself. The artifact should look crisp and it should not be hard to find and should clearly state what it is. On each of the benchmark examples, I liked how not only was there a description of the benchmark but examples of what each person had done to complete that benchmark. Artifacts are the examples of the completed benchmark, so a paper written, a picture taken. I could easily produce one of those right now and pop it into a blog post.
Party Invitation
I finally finished this party invitation. I have struggled making it however and I could not figure out how to put a box around my words, although I did change the font to make it more appealing. I added stickers to the invite and I used a semi decent looking picture for the image of me. It took me so long to post this because I couldn't figure out how to make it look appealing and original and decided that I liked the overall look of this and called it good. I'm glad we are done using Pixlr because I did not enjoy using it. There were too many problems and glitches using it.

Picture 4
For this picture I had a little difficulty trying to smudge the name. I ended up trying to move the blue box to resize so I could add some more flames but honestly, I like the look of this better. I decided to do my name for the text because it's short and sweet. I liked adding the color on the saturation of my name because I love purple and I ended up loving the look of this. I found it challenging to make it look the way it did, simply because there were so many steps and I got lost. Overall, I thought the turn out of this looks great.
Picture 3
Alright, so I have changed the background, and added a pretty fun picture to go along with this specific project. I was frustrated with the way that the white seemed to pop through and each time I tried to get the background cropped I ended up with a weird background. I changed the font and added like a back lighting effect on it and I changed the actual background with the gradient tool. I have difficulty with the cropping of this photo but overall, other than that, it was smooth sailing.

Blog Post 1 for Pixlr editor
I have completed the necessary requirements for the Pixlr editor. I took one of my favorite pictures of Andrew and I and I edited it by manipulating it to fir the requirements. I found it difficult to change the font color but after trouble shooting, I figured it out. I would like to know how to sharpen the images because mine is a tad blurry. I know there are many ways I can change the pictures I've taken with my iPad by using the background adjuster and many other cool features. I have added the picture I edited along with this post.

In depth game analysis
The target audience for my game is students looking for a fun way to learn their mathematic studies. Specifically sophomores and juniors learning slope formulas, how to find areas of triangles, learning the differences of angle measures. The game is designed to work like temple run in the way the man is running. The differences are that instead of the man just jumping or turning, you need to answer a math related question before he actually follows through and jumps or turns. If you get the question wrong, than he will fall or trip. The players motivation in playing is to get the answers right, so the animated character won't trip and die. I have one main character which will be like a safari tour guide. I would like to incorporate a female character as well toadd some versatility.

Home page Exam post 1
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
I glanced in a trance watching leaves fall
Breathtakingly beautiful, alone I stood
Along the streets I see kids getting candy
And think to myself, wow. God is handy.
And think to myself, wow. God is handy.
Then standing alone, wind blowing my hair
The autumn breeze giving me chills
I longed to be little, on Halloween a costume I would wear;
In leaves I stand on top of a hill
For a moment, all I can think of is fall.

Video Game Post 2
For the overall aspect of my educational video game, I'm going to be focusing on mathematics. I'm going to incorporate ideas from algebra and geometry and it's basically going to be formulas. It's a review game for math formulas. For me resources for ideas and examples, I can look on the online textbook at the URL (http://my.hrw.com/index.jsp?url=http://my.hrw.com/tabnav/controller.jsp?isbn=0030781078) I can also look at the actual book and I can use practice problems from homework. Currently, I have homework that's been previously assigned, I've got the online book that I can get onto from my iPad, I've got my daily notes that I can pull ideas from. I already have all the resources and I will be able to produce the requirements from my resources by the end of the week. I can incorporate self produced resources from my homework and imput them into the video game.
Video game project
We have been assigned to create the design concept for a video. I have decided to create a game similar to temple run but make it educational. I have taken the idea and key concepts from temp,e run and p,an to implement math equations into the actual game. I'm going to replicate the temple run format and create like a trial round so the player can get used to the game. Below I have posted pictures of what the game would look like and the changes I would make to it. As you progress through the game, the scenery will change and make it more appealing. I'm excited to see how interesting I can make this game appear.

Terms for my Video
My next task for Computer Tech is to choose 5 terms, which I have already defined in a previous blog post, and create a video showing those terms in action. I have decided to film long shot, full shot, medium shot, close up shot, and extreme close up. I think these will be the easiest terms to show through a video. I think I'm going to go to my moms classroom and shoot film of some of her students and show like the outside of her classroom or the building itself. I know her kids are cute and giggly this year so I can maybe take close ups of them and that should work well for this project.
Below is a URL that has some great pictures of kids in a classroom that I think I may copy. http://parks.sandi.net/CHEC/kinder_bootcamp.htm

Definitions
Here are my required Computer Tech definitions that I have paraphrased into my own words:
VoiceOver: someone narrating a video through audio
Framing: the way that a videographer moves the camera so the angle appeals to the audience
Camera Movement: the way the frame is moved so you can see from different angles
Pan: when the camera moves or rotates from side to side
Tilt: the camera stays in one spot, on a stand most likely, and is tipped up and down
Tracking shot: commonly used in movies, the camera is on a platform and pushed on railings like a railroad track
Zoom: enlarging an image by making it bigger
Shot: basically the image or picture taken
Establishing shots: the setup before the actual picture is taken
Long shot: the entire big picture of an area.
Full shot: another word for long shot. Like a synonym
Medium shot: the middle of an image. For example a body shot only from the wait up
Close up shot: a shot that zooms way into a scene or picture
Extreme close up:a picture that is zoomed the furthest it can go. Like on a face all you can see is an eyeball.
Over the shoulder shot: it's basically self explanatory. It's a shot taken over your shoulder
High and low angle shots: the high angle means that it's shot above the eyeliner and the low angle is when the camera is below and shoots upward.
Hand held shot: the camera man is holding the camera instead of it being on a tripod
Transition: going from one shot to the next. Sometimes shown through a scene change
Cut: a type of transition where a scene is split into two different shots
Dissolve: it's a type of transition where one scene bleeds into the next briefly
Fade in and out: slow increases or decrease in the image visibility.

Making Progress
I have almost completed the iMovie tutorial project. I just need to add some final touches and than I should be able to complete the project. I have found all of the required terms and I just need to edit the tutorial and make sure that I have everything spick and span. I have put in the time and effort for this project and it has become a full tutorial. I just need to finalize many little things and I should be all set. I went online and found out what the Ken Burns effect was and I explained that in my tutorial and how to use it. First I took screenshots and popped them into iMovie and than I put voiceover and showed what the effect was. I am looking forward to submitting this project and being done with it. Overall, I would say today was an accomplishment.

Continuing the iMovie project
So far I have made progress on this project. I have taken the screenshots from iMovie and imported them into my project. I have started to edit some of the video but I have yet to put voiceover on iMovie. I used KidsDoodle from a prior project and have drawn on my screenshots to illustrate what message I'm trying to portray in the certain climes. I plan on finishing things on KidsDoodle and putting voiceover on the presentation for the tutorial. I also need to make sure that I clarify what the Kens Burns effect is and show what I learned on the tutorial. Today has been a success and I plan on doing a swell job on this project.

Overview of the iMovie project
It's the second day of doing the iMovie project and I have begun to make a little progress. I have taken multiple screenshots and plan on importing them into my iMovie project tutorial. For example, I have taken a screenshot of the title slide and I will put a voiceover to show everything you need to know on creating a title slide. I've discovered how to create transitions on iMovie and I took a screenshot and I will put voiceover on that as well. Im planning on making the transitions for my tutorial and switching it up so its not so plain. I'm also to add background music so it's more appealing to the audience. To sum up today's experience I would say that I'm making progress and need to buckle down and finish this up.

Tutorial for iMovie
Once again we are starting a new project in Computer Tech. The task is to create a presentation showing how to use iMovie, basically a tutorial for it. I need to make sure that I show so the required bullet pointed topics such as the Ken Burns effect, putting in voice over narrations, basically the works. Today is the first day beginning this new project, and I have not yet started doing anything. First, I'm thinking I will take screenshots of the required points to make sure that I've got all of them. Next, I will most likely put them into iMovie and put voice over on it and jazz it all up to make sure it looks sharp. I'm looking forward to discovering all the intricacies of how iMovie works.

Draw My Life Project
KidsDoodle
In trying to find an app that would work in order for me to complete the "Draw My Life" project, I needed to go through this list and test some of them. By process of elimintaion, I decided to use KidsDoodle. This app is fantastic in recording a video of your drawings, I like the variety of choices for the backgrounds, love the way that the actual app displayed the drawings. I have no complaints about this app, it honestly is fantastic and that's why I decided to use it for the overall final product of the project. This app easily allows me to record video and is easy to pop into iMovie and I decided that out of all the apps on the list, that this was the perfect one for me.

Song lyrics
Every time that you copy info
Make you sure give credit to the author
I wrote this song giving credit to Derulo oh
Yeah the words they flow
And the credits they go
And the credits they go
Yeah the credits they go
Da da, da ra ra da, da, da
Da, ra, ra, ra, da, da
Da da, da ra ra da, da, da
Da, ra, ra, ra, da, da
They go
Fair use is a doctrine
that let's you copy stuff (copy stuff)
It's a first amendment right
That can be a parody (parody)
It's also commentary and
Criticism (critcism)
Something enters public domain
When you post it all online
Post it online
If someone dies you can have their rights
As long as you make sure not to fight
Every time that you copy info
Make you sure give credit to the author

And the credits they go
Yeah the credits they go
Da da, da da da da [7x]
They go
Public domain is a safety valve
In copyright laws
Copyright lawwws
Make sure you give creds to the author
If you don't wanna go to jail
For stealing someone's work
Make sure if you copy info you give
Rights to the author otherwise
You're plagiarizing and that's just not cool

Applying Digital Citizenship to a Video
In creating a video, there are many things to be cautious of and becoming aware of giving credit to the original holders information. For instance, since I borrowed pictures from Google, I needed to make sure that I cited the information so the original got the credit instead of me stealing all the glory. In copyrighting something, the creator has all rights reserved to his or her work that they created. When I borrow information, I am applying fair use because I'm making sure I give credit to the original creator. Even in the small things like using a slide transition, there are people who have created the transitions like the Ken Burns, who get credit for their transitions. Since public domain is basically a safety net to make sure all work is copyrighted and not plagiarized there are some things that I have used that are most likely in public domain. Most works are in the public domain because they are old and the person with the rights has either died or their rights have expired. In annotating something, often at times students will underline and highlight things to make sure their point get across. For example, in a book, I might underline an important sentence to show that I need to remember the significance of it. For annotating a song, I need to have the name of the artist, the year and album title, the copyrights that the album has, and also how I have digital citizenship and I'm not stealing their song.

Copyright Questions
When talking about copyright, sometimes the lines get blurred a little bit. People don't know when they have to give credit to the original author and it turns into a huge mess. Looking at some questions to copyright, some of the lines become more sharp. For example when was copyright created? Copyright was originally created in 1709 beginning with a law called the Statue of Ann. A few key examples of intellectual property are patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The copyright symbol protects the piece of work that the original copyright holder has created. The holder can make sure that all people who use his/her piece give credit to the holder. You don't need to have an intellectual property registered in order to have a copyright. The article that was posted Or written already has a copyright online and is protected by online. Fair use allows copyrighted materials for the purpose and character of use, the nature of the work, the amount copied, the effect on the market, and for any music. When something says you have public domain it means that you have all the rights to the published item. It is protected by the government and you have all rights entitled to yourself.
Wednesday, September 17, 2014
Fair use is giving credit to the person who originally posted the information. In pertaining to this project, we have to make sure that the original author has the credit so we don't get in trouble otherwise we would be plagiarizing. The Supreme Court ruled that parodies fall under the fair use defense. What you can do to prevent copyright is ask permission first, prove that your work falls under the first amendment, out free speech protection on it.

Defining
Copyright- when someone writes something and they have the right to share it and anyone else has the right to read and use it as well. Usually at the beginning of a book and it says all rights reserved.
At the beginning of books it will say in the first pages who the copyright is of someone.
Fair use- when someone writes something and other people have he right to use it.
Public domain- when someone writes or posts online it is shown to the world and the world can use it. Like for example, right now someone could use these awfully defined words in their own context.
Plagiarism- when someone has written something and it is copied and pasted onto someone else's work. For example, when writing a paper I completely copy and paste someone else's paper that I found online and put my name on it even though it's not mine.
Citations- when you use a picture or quote from someone else and you're writing a paper or doing a presentation, you must give credit to the person that originally created it.
"You gave me a forever within my limited number of days." (The Fault In Our Stars, page 75, John Green)
Attributions- to chalk it all up. Like everything wrapped up all together. "I give attributions to my book that I read."

In order to create a cool powerpoint that engages the entire audience, I knew I needed to pull out all the stops. The task seemed simple enough and I was determined to achieve excellence. I had to download the Prezi app, set up an account, and insert text and pictures into the actual presentation itself. I knew that it was going to be interesting trying to create the Prezi and although it seemed to be a breeze, there were still difficulties. I could not insert more than one picture into a slide and I also wanted to add music to make the whole presentation a little more interesting but I couldn't get it to work. I enjoyed toying with the background and template designs of the presentation but I just felt like I was unable to fully exhibit my abilities in technology. I chose to use a Prezi because it was different than your average PowerPoint and I fully enjoyed using the app itself. In this process I knew that I had to stay focused, which sometimes can be a challenge, and I needed to make sure that any and all objectives were met. I didn't want to overload one slide on text so I bullet pointed the text in order for me to stay on topic when presenting and not overkill on all the words. It was quite an experience but using Prezi made the whole thing possible.

Prezi Presentation
Being assigned to create some sort of presentation, I at first, was apprehensive. I thought, "Here we go, another waste of time." I was surprised at first to find that there was some sort of freedom and enjoyment in showing what I am capable of making, technology wise. I decided to create a Prezi because it's off the beaten path of typical presentations. It was quite easy to create and use the presentation and made it a little more interesting than your average, typical presentation. I thought overall, as a general statement, that I met the goals and objectives required to meet. I decided to buckle down, use my time wisely and knock this assignment out of the park. I inserted pictures from my life to make the presentation a little more personal. Overall, I was able to display my knowledge of a presentation and clearly articulate what I can do. I got my iPad all hooked up to Prezi and from there I created my presentation. I thought not only did I meet the requirements for the presentation, but in some aspects, I went above and beyond in exceeding the expectations. I exhibited to the best of my ability how to effectively answer the questions required while not boring the audience. Here was the first slide, with a cool color scheme and hard work it drew in the audience and enabled them to focus and enjoy my presentation.
